Tottenham cakes and Bolton pies! The 1901 FA Cup final |
By Andy George, Ian Bevan, Stuart Hibberd and Michael Gilbert
On the 20th April 1901 Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspurs met at the Crystal Palace to claim the prestigious prize - the 'little tin idol', the FA Cup itself.
After the drawn game at the Palace, Tottenham won the Cup in the Replay at Burnden Park, Bolton on the following Saturday thus becoming the first and probably the last Club to win the FA Cup from outside the Football League.
The book traces the route of Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur to the Final. Tottenham's ultimate success, a victory that was celebrated at the time and has been commemorated ever since.
The book contains previously many unpublished images including a seriers of unique photographs of the first Edwardian Cup Final at the Crystal Palace.
