Our expert guide will take you on a healthy and historical 1-2 hour walk of the upper section of nationally listed Grade II* Crystal Palace Park. They will show you the terraces and sphinxes, the huge bust of Joseph Paxton, (all listed Grade II), the remains of the once World's largest aquarium, bases of Brunels north and south water towers and many other fascinating features. You will learn much about the history of Crystal Palace from 1850 to 1936, the marvellous events that were held there and the great Victorians who made it happen.
David Britton conducts guided walks in Crystal Palace Park on behalf of the Crystal Palace Foundation. These walks take place every second Sunday in the month although alternative dates can be arranged if required.
The walks will generally begin from Crystal Palace Railway Station, Crystal Palace Station Road, SE19 and take approximately 2 hours.
